Combustion Analysis

RPA-C is a combustion analysis tool used in the automotive industry to design airbag inflators and micro gas generators. It can also be used as a general-purpose code for combustion analysis of propellants and pyrotechnics mixtures.

The software is capable of:

  • Solving combustion problems for a wide range of initial mixtures, including compositions producing condensed products
  • Estimating Heat of Explosion (HEX) using exact method and inert diluent (Ar) method
  • Obtaining thermodynamic properties of reacting mixture using robust, proven and industry-accepted Gibbs free energy minimization approach
  • Extendable database of ingredients and products of reaction
  • Import chemical species from NASA CEA and PROPEP formats
  • Editor of chemical species to modify chemical species or add custom ingredients
  • Scripting utility for enabling access to RPA-C functionality from third-party tools and custom scripts (e.g. Matlab, Scilab, or Octave)
  • Scilab native plugin for development of custom solutions
