RPA v.4.0.12 is now available for MacOS ARM64 (Apple Silicon) architecture.
RPA for MacOS is distributed as a disk image (DMG) containing Application Bundle.
To install the application
- Download the MacOS disk image (.dmg) file.
- By default, Safari downloads the disk image to your Downloads folder, which you can open from the Dock or by choosing Downloads from the Go menu in Finder.
- Open the .dmg file: Double-click the .dmg file. This will mount the disk image and open a new window where you will see the application icon.
- Drag to Applications: Click and drag the application icon into the Applications folder or any other directory where you want to install the application.
- Wait for the copy to finish: macOS will take a few seconds to copy the application bundle to your system.
- Eject the disk image: Once the transfer is complete, locate the mounted disk image on your desktop or in the Finder sidebar and click the Eject button.
- Delete the original file: You can now safely delete the .dmg file from your Downloads folder to free up disk space.
- Start the application: Double-click the application icon in the Applications folder or in the directory where you installed it.
- To uninstall the application, simply delete the application bundle from the installation directory.
As RPA doesn’t come from the App Store, your MacOS will show the following message when you are starting it for the first time:
Apple could not verify RPA is free of malware
This warning means Apple's built-in security (Gatekeeper) cannot confirm the app or file's developer or if it has been notarized. This usually happens with apps downloaded outside the Mac App Store.
To start the application, manually override in Settings as follows:
- Attempt to open the app. When the warning appears, click Done or Cancel (do not move it to the trash).
- Open the Apple Menu, navigate to "System Settings".
- Click on Privacy & Security in the sidebar.
- Scroll down to the Security section. You should see a message stating that the app was blocked.
- Click Open Anyway and enter your Mac's login password to authorize it.
